Lanvin Announces Peter Copping as its New Artistic Director

A New Chapter.

Lanvin, the luxury French House, has named Peter Copping as its new artistic director, marking a significant moment in the brand’s storied history.

Copping, renowned for his previous tenures at Oscar de la Renta and Nina Ricci, will take the helm this September, bringing fresh creative energy to both the womenswear and menswear lines. His appointment comes as Lanvin seeks to stabilise and rejuvenate its image following years of tumult and change.

Copping joins Lanvin from Balenciaga, where he has been working behind the scenes as head of couture since 2021. His extensive experience and visionary approach align with the legacy of Jeanne Lanvin, the house’s founder. “Jeanne Lanvin was a visionary whose interests and passions extended beyond fashion, much like my own. I am extremely honored to have been chosen as artistic director of Lanvin and look forward to writing the next chapter for this iconic house alongside the atelier and teams,” Copping stated.

Despite the new leadership, Lanvin will not be showcasing at Paris Fashion Week this September, leaving fashion enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the debut of Copping’s first collection for the historic brand.
