The End An Era.
Y/Project, the Paris-based fashion label that over the years established itself as a popular reference, has announced it will shut down after 14 years in business. The decision follows the brand’s inability to find a buyer after creative director Glenn Martens’ departure in September 2024.
Martens’ exit marked the conclusion of a transformative period for Y/Project, which rose to global prominence under his visionary leadership. Attempts to sell the brand in October 2024 were unsuccessful, as no buyer submitted an acceptable bid, ultimately leading to the label’s closure.
“After 14 fruitful years, Y/Project has made the challenging decision to stop operations,” the company said in a statement.
In a nod to its enduring influence, Y/Project plans to donate key archive pieces to several museums, preserving its creative legacy for future generations.
