BAPE Opens A New Flagship Store In San Francisco

Landing In The Suburbs.

Or more accurately, right in the heart of Union Square. After years of building a cult following across the Bay Area, the Japanese streetwear heavyweight has made its relationship with the region official with the opening of BAPE STORE® SAN FRANCISCO at 216 Stockton Street. The two-story flagship marks a major new chapter for BAPE in the U.S., bringing the brand into one of the city’s most iconic shopping districts while planting its flag in a market that has been rocking with BAPE since day one.

Inside, the formula gets a Bay Area remix with a crisp white design, natural materials, high-gloss steel, wood-grain mosaic and layers of camo transform the historic space into a clean, futuristic streetwear playground. Outside, the preserved black-granite façade sets the tone, with an illuminated APE HEAD LOGO, SHARK SEIJIN sculpture and an American-flag-inspired neon detail turning the corner into an instant landmark.

But to celebrate the flagship opening, BAPE went even harder, tapping NFL star and Bay Area native Marshawn Lynch for a cinematic homecoming moment. Shot at dusk on the iconic Cameron House basketball court, the film moves from the Bay Bridge and downtown skyline to Lynch posted court side in head-to-toe signature camo, with the Transamerica Pyramid behind him. “BAPE pullin up to the city. Feels more like destiny than a debut.”
