More than cool.
Milan Design Week is already giving us what we didn’t know we needed, or at least for Aesop, whose first-ever lamp launch is cool enough, but honestly? The uniforms might be stealing the show.
Designed by Yohji Yamamoto for his Y’s line, the staff jacket is exactly what you’d expect from the master of minimal noir: a longline black silhouette in subtly wrinkled fabric that somehow looks effortless and intentional at the same time. There’s a patch pocket at the hip, a hidden one on the left, and zero unnecessary details — because of course there aren’t.
Aesop ushers and employees are wearing the look throughout the Factory of Light exhibit, running April 21–26, and it just makes sense. Yamamoto’s quiet, unhurried aesthetic and Aesop’s own restrained, organic universe feel like they were always meant to share a wardrobe. What are your thoughts?
