Yung Lean to Present 10 Years of Art at Stockholm Exhibition

An Artistic Archive.

Yes, if you scrolled through a Jonatan Leandoer Håstad exhibition announcement, yet it’s the actual name of the musician Yung Lean. At this point, we know that he has an eye for art, from his viral video for the single “STORM” to the surreal visual world he has built around his music. Born in Stockholm in 1996, Håstad emerged as the face of Sad Boys, transforming the hazy language of cloud rap into a wider cultural universe of music, fashion and imagery.

Now, that visual instinct is moving into the gallery with Collected Works 2016–2026. Opening September 25 until October 11 at Torsgatan 22 in Stockholm, the exhibition brings together a decade of Håstad’s paintings, drawings, sculptures, collages and installations, much of which has never been shown publicly.

The exhibition itself mirrors Håstad’s unconventional creative world, featuring a salon, television room and screening room alongside larger installations and sculptural pieces. A new short film, executive produced by and starring Håstad, follows two lovers through a dreamlike Swedish landscape. His process is similarly instinctive, describing his art-making as a stream of consciousness where he lets his hand decide where the work goes.

After its Stockholm run, a selection of sculptures will head to an international online auction through Bukowskis, pushing Håstad’s visual practice even further into the contemporary art world, and honestly, we can’t wait fo it.
