Best Dressed At The MOBO Awards

The tartan print is a trend that has well and truly worked its way back onto our high street and into our wardrobes. For some high-end designers, the use of tartan is irrespective of whether it is on trend and they continue to use it from season to season including Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Pam Hogg.

Now, the tartan print has trickled through from our catwalks and is once again prominent in our high street stores. PAUSE takes a look at some of the best tartan pieces available at the moment.

You can’t go wrong with a basic flannel shirt, and this one from Topman is both affordable and stylish.

Designer Thomas Codd uses the tartan print as the staple of his collections. Take a look at this traditional red tartan shirt available to buy on the ASOS Marketplace.

The white shirt with tartan pocket detail will also look great on.

Having recently re-launched its menswear line, British label Jigsaw has designed some beautiful pieces using the tartan trend. Take a look at this woolen cardigan with tartan detailing.

Using a slightly different colour pattern this time with green and blue hues, these trousers also from Jigsaw would look great matched with a smart black shirt.

If your mind isn’t fully made up on the tartan trend yet, why not inject it subtly into your wardrobe with this satchel from The Cambridge Satchel Company, available at ASOS.

As we all saw on the MOBO awards last Saturday night, some outfits were a bit of a hit and miss. But some artists really stood out for us and PAUSE is here to report back on some of the best outfits of the night.

A very energetic Labrinth dressed to impress at this year’s awards. Arriving in a grey double breasted jacket and trousers with a burgundy polo neck underneath adding some festive colour into the look. Also on trend, tartan patterns are a hit this season and the pale print adds a suttle pop.

Looking just as great after his performance in the award room, Labrinth wore a burgundy leather blazer with a white shirt and topping it with simple gold chain to keep his outfit looking fresh. Pairing this with some slim fit black jeans and creepers; all in all very stylish on and off stage.

Another artist who arrived looking very sharp was Angel! Dressed in a crisp white shirt, suede black blazer and navy trousers complementing his loosely done tie. Thick framed glasses and watch helped pull the outfit together as he arrived in style. This is the perfect look for anyone who’s going to an event but still wants their style and personality to shine though.

Wiley preformed on stage rocking an all black military style sweater from Billy Boyce Clothing. The body of the top was all black sequins with a very distinctive and unique heavy gold chain across the left shoulder. This sweater looked great on stage and gave his outfit that pop and wow factor.

Winning their 5th MOBO for best video, JLS looked like perfect gentlemen wearing a selection of waistcoats and tweed style suits. In their usual form, the boys stole the spotlight on the red carpet.
